An exposed Anderson contact face is an invitation to dust, and a dusty contact is a warm contact, and a warm contact is one that fails at the worst time. A cover that clips over the plug when nothing is in it keeps the face clean, and it takes two seconds to fit.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJumper leads made for the box. These connect to a 175A Anderson outlet on a box that has one, rather than clamping to the battery posts. Whether a given box and battery can crank a given engine depends on the box's rated outlet and the battery behind it, so check the box specifications before relying on it; ordinary small-clamp jumper leads are the wrong tool for that outlet either way.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWiring parts for the run between the box and the vehicle. A dual battery wiring kit supplies the cable, lugs and fusing for a box that is being connected properly rather than through whatever lead was in the drawer, and a voltage sensitive relay lets the vehicle charge the box battery while it is running and disconnect it before the starting battery is flattened.
