Proof Of Purchase

To process any warranty claim, Roam Gear requires a valid proof of purchase. This is required to verify the product's purchase date and determine its warranty coverage. We accept the following forms of proof of purchase:

•   An original receipt or invoice. We accept digital versions, such as a scan or clear photo, provided the date of purchase and all product details are clearly legible.

•   Online proof of original purchase (e.g. an order confirmation email from roamgear.com.au).

•   A credit card or bank statement clearly showing the purchase from Roam Gear (with sensitive information redacted).

For transferable warranties (second-hand purchases), the original proof of purchase from the first owner is required.

Roam Gear Product Warranty

Roam Gear Products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship, which begin on the date of original purchase until the end of the warranty period. Specific warranty periods, which can range from 12 months to 10 years, vary by product (Warranty Period). For specific and detailed information regarding Warranty Periods, please refer to the documentation supplied with your Roam Gear Product.

If, during the applicable Warranty Period, the Roam Gear Products provide defective by reason of improper workmanship or materials, we will repair, replace or refund the Roam Gear Products. You may have rights under Australian Consumer Law beyond the Warranty Period.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Making A Warranty Claim

Should you encounter a defect with any Roam Gear Product, we ask that you initiate a warranty claim via our Support Portal.

Roam Gear Products will be inspected by our team. Following this assessment, if a defect is confirmed, we will commence the warranty procedure.

•   Minor Defects: This typically involves a repair by Roam Gear within a reasonable timeframe.

•   Major Defects: Roam Gear will provide an option for either a replacement or a refund once the issue is verified.

Warranty Limitations And Exclusions

The limitations and exclusions described below apply only to the extent permitted by law and do not exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

This warranty shall not apply to defects or damage from:

•   Incorrect Use and Maintenance: Roam Gear Products that have not been installed, maintained, or operated in accordance with any product manuals or other related documentation.

•   Misuse or Damage: Accidental, deliberate or negligent misuse or abuse, physical alteration, fire, liquid spillage, improper voltage, power surges, thunderstorm activity, force majeure, natural disasters or any tampering by unauthorised persons.

•   Environmental Factors: Use of defective or incompatible accessories or damage caused by corrosive conditions or the introduction of pests or foreign bodies.

•   Third-Party Products: Damage resulting from any third-party software, hardware, or products not provided by Roam Gear.

•   Wear, Tear, and Loss: Normal wear and tear, the natural breakdown of colours and the natural degradation of materials over time, or items that are lost or stolen.

•   Batteries: Issues related to batteries that have not been used in accordance with our product guidelines or manuals.

•   Electrical Work: Unless a product is labelled DIY (Do It Yourself), all electrical work must be performed by a qualified licensed electrician.

•   Consumable Items: Items that are considered consumable by nature (such as batteries, filters, or light bulbs). This does not affect your right to a remedy for a consumable item that is found to have a manufacturing defect upon receipt.

•   Installation and Labor: Costs associated with the removal of a faulty product, or the re-installation of a repaired or replacement product.

DIY Installations and Third-Party Components

Improper installation or modification may result in voiding the warranty. We strongly recommend:

•   Following all installation instructions correctly.
•   Using only Roam Gear-approved or explicitly recommended components and accessories.
•   Consulting our support team prior to making any modification or using third-party items.

For any valid claim under this warranty, Roam Gear's liability is limited, at our discretion, to one or more of the following:

•   Replacing the goods with a same or similar Roam Gear Product
•   Refunding the purchase price

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Warranty Transferability

Roam Gear Product warranties are tied to the product itself, not the original purchaser. If you acquire a Roam Gear Product second-hand, (as a gift from a friend, family member, or through a marketplace) the warranty remains valid as long as it hasn’t expired.

To claim a warranty on a second-hand product, you must:

  1. Initiate the claim via our online Support Portal
  2. Provide the original proof of purchase, which you should obtain from the original purchaser

Please Note: Transferring ownership does not extend or restart the warranty period. The warranty is valid from the original purchase date for the Warranty Period.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Freight and Handling for Warranty Claims

You are responsible for the initial cost of returning the product to us for assessment. We strongly recommend you use a tracked shipping service and package the product in a secure manner for the purpose of preventing damage in transit.

Roam Gear is not responsible for items that are lost or damaged during return transit to us. If your claim is validated as a manufacturing defect under the Australian Consumer Law, we will reimburse reasonable standard postage costs incurred in returning the item to us.

Product Fault is Confirmed

If our assessment confirms it is a warranty issue covered by warranty, we will:

•   At our discretion for a minor fault, repair or replace the product at no cost to you.
•   Offer you a choice of replacement or refund for a major fault.
•   Reimburse you for any reasonable postage costs you incur in returning the faulty product to us.

Please retain a copy of your postage receipt. If you cannot provide a receipt, we may request other reasonable evidence of the postage cost.

No Fault is Found

If the product is assessed and found not to be a warranty issue, or if the issue is not covered by warranty, you will be responsible for any shipping costs required to have the item returned to you.

Manufacturer Product Warranty

Some of our Manufacturer Products may be covered by a warranty offered by the manufacturer (Manufacturer Warranty). Manufacturer Warranty claims are most efficiently handled directly by the manufacturer. They have technical knowledge to identify and resolve, and process claims for their own products.

For Manufacturer Products:

•   Follow the Brand's Warranty Policy: Visit the manufacturer's website to review their specific warranty terms and conditions.

•   Contact the Brand Directly: If the product meets the warranty requirements, please contact the manufacturer by using the contact information provided.

•   Follow Their Process: Follow the manufacturer's specific claim process for the fastest resolution.

For contact details and claim instructions for our partner brands, and all Roam Gear product warranty claims please visit our Support Portal and select "Begin a warranty claim".

If you have contacted and followed the manufacturer's warranty process and feel the outcome is unsatisfactory, or if you would like more information regarding your consumer rights, please contact our Customer Support team on 1300 762 643. We stand behind every product we sell, and our support for you doesn’t end at the checkout.

If you are successful in making a manufacturer warranty claim and the defect has been remedied, we will not provide any additional remedy. However, if the defect remains partially or fully unremedied, we will assess and handle your claim in accordance with this warranty. You always have the choice to seek a remedy from us or the manufacturer.
