About Stubby Coolers
A stubby cooler buys the last twenty minutes, and the last twenty minutes is the part that matters.
The first mouthful of a cold drink is cold regardless. It is what happens over the next half hour, in thirty degrees, with a hand around it, that decides whether the bottom of the can is worth drinking. A cooler does not chill anything. It slows the transfer between a warm hand, warm air and a cold drink, and that is enough to change the ending.
The other job is grip and dirt. A can straight from the fridge sweats, and a sweating can picks up every bit of sand it is put down on. A cooler keeps the condensation off the hand and the sand off the can.
The magnetic version sticks to the side of a vehicle, a fridge lid or a toolbox, which sounds like a novelty until the ground is uneven and there is nowhere flat to put a drink down.
Neither costs much and both live in the vehicle permanently, which is the test.
