About TRA
TRA covers the part of a build that only gets thought about after the first humid night.
Ventilation is invisible until it is missing. A van or a caravan is a sealed box, and cooking, showering and two people breathing overnight put more moisture into it than anyone expects. Without a way out, that moisture ends up on the windows, in the mattress and eventually in the lining as mould.
The roof vents here are the way out. Manual hatches with a 12V fan, wound open by hand, with nothing electronic in the lid to fail a long way from a parts counter. Electric versions with a rain sensor that close themselves when the weather turns, so the vent can be left open overnight and nobody has to wake up for it. A side vent version of the electric hatch, which still fits in the roof. And a compact vent with lighting built in for a shower cubicle, so one hole in the roof does two jobs.
Awning lighting sits alongside, for the covered area where everyone ends up after dark.
The thing to check before ordering is the cut-out size and the depth of the roof cavity, because the frame has to clear whatever is above the lining. Then fit the vent over the source of the moisture, not in the middle of the roof, because a vent in the wrong place still moves air, it just moves it from somewhere that was not the problem.
