About Roam Merch
Nobody buys a sticker before they buy a fridge.
Merch is what turns up afterwards, once the setup has done a few trips and proven itself, and it is bought for a different reason to everything else in the store. A battery is bought because the fridge needs one. A shirt is bought because the trips have started to add up to something.
That is the whole category. It is not equipment and it does not claim to be. It is the shirt that goes on the third day when everything else is dirty, the cooler that lives in the door of the fridge, the sticker on the back window that means something to the two people who recognise it and nothing to anyone else.
What it does have to be is durable, because it goes where the rest of the gear goes. A shirt that fades in one season is a shirt that gets left at home. A sticker that peels off in the first month was not worth the window. So the printing is done to survive sun, the cotton is chosen to survive a camp washing machine, and the vinyl is rated for a vehicle that lives outside.
There is a second reason it exists, which is recognition. A sticker on a back window or a shirt at a boat ramp is how one person who travels this way spots another, and that is worth more on a track in the middle of nowhere than it is in a car park in town.
Buy it because you want it. That is the only reason there is, and it is a good enough one.
