Invicta Xero 300Ah 12V Lithium Battery with Bluetooth

Overview

Product Information

Product Description

The Invicta Xero is an advanced lithium battery engineered for demanding applications. It features an IP67 waterproof rating, a high performance BMS, and expanded communication options with both CAN bus and Bluetooth connections. The battery is built with Invicta’s proven prismatic cells and is backed by a market leading 7 year full replacement warranty.

The upgraded BMS allows for a 500A pulse and 150A continuous discharge, enough to run most 2000W inverters. System design is more flexible, with configurations of up to four batteries in series or sixteen in parallel. The open protocol CAN bus allows direct communication with the BMS for highly accurate data, while Bluetooth connects to the Invicta app for user friendly monitoring. The internal design is built to handle vibration, with a strengthened frame and laser welded busbars.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How low can you safely discharge a lithium deep cycle battery?

You can safely discharge a lithium battery down to zero percent of its capacity, but most manufacturers suggest keeping a 20 percent buffer to maximize its service life. This allows you to use significantly more power compared to traditional lead acid batteries, which should not be pulled below 50 percent.

This deeper discharge capability is a primary advantage of lithium technology for off grid travel. It means a 100Ah lithium battery provides nearly double the usable runtime of an equivalent AGM unit. Because the voltage remains stable throughout the discharge cycle, your fridge and lights will run at full performance until the battery is nearly empty.

To see exactly how much juice you have left, explore our Battery Monitors collection or find a way to top up your storage in our 12V Solar Panels range.

What does a BMS do in a lithium battery?

A Battery Management System or BMS is the internal brain that monitors every cell to keep the battery operating within safe limits. It manages the charging and discharging process to prevent overcharging, deep discharge, and short circuits, which helps prevent cell damage.

The BMS also provides temperature protection, cutting the power if the cells become too hot or too cold during use. By balancing the voltage across individual cells, the system helps maintain the capacity and longevity of your battery over thousands of cycles. This invisible protection allows you to focus on your trip while the battery looks after itself.

Browse our Battery Monitors & Shunts to keep an eye on your battery, or our 12V Pure Sinewave Inverters to see how to use that protected power.

Do I need a special charger for a 12V lithium battery?

You must use a charger with a dedicated lithium profile to properly maintain a 12V lithium battery. Standard lead acid chargers often include desulfation or equalisation stages that use high voltage pulses, which can trigger the battery management system to shut down or potentially damage the cells.

A lithium specific charger follows a precise constant current and constant voltage curve that safely restores the battery to its full state of charge. This is critical for making the most of the fast recharge speeds that lithium technology offers. Using the correct charging profile helps maintain the long term health and performance of your investment.

Can I mount a lithium battery under the bonnet of my 4WD?

Most lithium batteries are not designed to be mounted under the bonnet because extreme engine bay heat can lead to a significant drop in performance or trigger a safety shutdown. Lithium cells are sensitive to high temperatures, and the heat soak from a modern turbo diesel engine often exceeds the safe operating limits of a standard battery.

For the best results, mount your lithium battery in a cooler location such as a canopy, a custom drawer system, or behind a rear seat. If you must mount one in the engine bay, you must choose a unit specifically engineered and rated for under bonnet use. This protects your power system from heat damage and helps you stay powered during long outback hauls.
