Bushwakka Extreme 2000mm Straight Wall (Single)

Most awning wall kits are brand specific because they rely on exact zipper lengths and sail track positions to create a weather tight seal. While some mesh screens use universal velcro straps, a solid canvas wall usually requires the specific dimensions of your awning frame to function correctly without sagging or gaps.

Matching the wall to your specific gear makes certain the fabric is under the correct tension to handle wind and rain. Using an incompatible kit can lead to poor performance and potential damage to your awning arms. Check our range of Awnings to identify your model and find matching enclosure options.

You can angle awning walls outward by using longer guy ropes and extra pegs to create a larger sheltered footprint. This method increases your usable floor area for storage or cooking while still providing protection from the sun and light breezes. It is a smart way to expand your campsite without adding the weight of a larger awning.

By pegging the walls at an angle, you also improve rain runoff and reduce the wind resistance of your shelter. This setup is a practical move for long term camps where you need more room to move. Explore our Camping Gear for high quality pegs and ropes to secure your angled setup.

Properly pegging down a wall involves using elastic tensioners or spring links between the fabric and the peg. These components allow the wall to move slightly with the wind rather than tearing or pulling the peg out of the ground. Providing this flexibility helps the shelter handle sudden gusts without stressing the awning frame.

Always drive your pegs in at a 45 degree angle toward the vehicle for the strongest hold. You should also ensure the wall is pulled taut but not overstretched, as this can damage the zippers over time. Regularly checking the tension during your trip is a smart maintenance habit that keeps your campsite quiet and secure.

Mesh screens are the better choice for hot weather because they provide sun protection while allowing for maximum airflow and visibility. They are a practical solution for keeping your campsite cool and reducing the glare of the afternoon sun. Solid canvas walls are superior for blocking heavy rain and cold winds, making them the preferred choice for winter touring or southern coastal trips.

Choosing between them depends on where you travel most. Many adventurers use a combination of both to create a versatile shelter system that handles any Australian condition. Adding an enclosure also provides a great mounting surface for your setup. See our LED Awning Light Kits to find integrated lighting that works perfectly within your enclosed living space.
