Rekcharge 12V Dual Flush Mount Panel with 50A Anderson Plug & Cigarette Lighter Socket

Flush mount panels are the better choice for internal surfaces where you want a professional and recessed finish. By keeping the electrical connection tucked away, these panels prevent gear or drawers from catching on the plug while you are moving items in the back of your vehicle. This is a practical move for custom drawer systems and internal canopy fit outs where space is at a premium.

Surface mount options are better if you prefer not to cut large holes in your vehicle panels or if you are mounting to a solid exterior surface like a chassis rail. These stand out from the surface and are often easier to install for quick projects. Both styles provide a secure mechanical fix for your power links.

Yes, you need to cut a rectangular hole in your vehicle or canopy to install a flush mount panel. The body of the housing is designed to sit recessed within the mounting surface, which allows the face of the panel to sit flat against the panel. This is what creates the professional and integrated look that many DIY builders chase.

Most panels come with a template or specific dimensions to help you mark out the cutout area correctly. It is a good practice to check the depth behind the panel before you begin cutting to ensure there is enough room for the plug and the wiring to fit without being crimped or strained. This recessed design keeps your connections protected and out of the way.

These panels are designed to work with genuine 50A Anderson plugs and high quality aftermarket equivalents. The internal dimensions of the housing match the standard footprint of the most popular 12V power connectors. This allows the plug to click securely into the rear of the panel for a stable fit.

Using a flush mount panel is a smart way to modernize your setup. It provides a fixed location for your power leads, which reduces the chance of wires being pulled or strained during travel. This approach makes certain your connections remain firm even on corrugated outback tracks.

You must always install a fuse or circuit breaker on the line leading to your flush mount panel. The panel itself is a mounting bracket and does not provide any internal electrical protection. Fusing the circuit as close to the battery as possible prevents your wiring from becoming a fire hazard if a short occurs.

The fuse rating should match the maximum amperage of the accessories you plan to plug in. For a standard 50A connector, a 50A or 60A fuse is common for protecting the main feed. This simple step keeps your entire 12V system safe while you are parked at camp.
