Rekcharge 6 Piece White ABS Solar Panel Mounting Bracket Kit

Use a high performance structural adhesive like Sikaflex 252 or a similar polyurethane sealant. These adhesives are specifically designed to bond ABS plastic to metal or fiberglass surfaces, providing a permanent hold that replaces the need for screws or bolts.

Preparation is the most important part of the process. You must thoroughly clean and prime both the bracket and the roof surface to remove any grease or dust before applying the adhesive. This creates a chemical bond that can handle the vibration and heat of Australian travel.

ABS solar mounts are safe for highway speeds and rough tracks as long as the structural adhesive has been applied to a properly prepared surface. The wide surface area of these brackets is designed to create a massive bonding zone that handles the wind lift and vibrations encountered during long hauls on the bitumen or corrugated outback roads.

Cleaning and priming the roof and the brackets before bonding creates the permanent hold. This drill free method is a standard practice for caravans and campervans because it maintains a watertight seal while providing enough strength to keep the panels locked down.

Adding side brackets is highly recommended for any solar panel over 100 watts. While corner mounts handle the four corners, larger panels can flex in the middle due to wind pressure at high speeds or vibration on corrugated outback tracks.

These extra brackets provide more structural support and a larger bonding surface to distribute the load evenly across your caravan or canopy roof. This prevents the panel from bouncing and reduces the stress on the corner mounts, helping you maintain a secure and permanent bond.

Yes, Roam Gear ABS Solar Mounting Brackets are constructed from high grade, UV resistant plastic designed to withstand the harsh Australian sun. This material is chosen specifically to prevent the brackets from becoming brittle, cracking, or fading after years of exposure on a caravan or canopy roof.

Because these mounts are often used for permanent installations in remote and coastal areas, the UV stability of the plastic is a critical factor in maintaining a secure bond. Using these brackets alongside a quality structural adhesive helps create a long lasting mounting solution that handles heat and sunlight without performance loss.
