KEY 3.00mm (1.13mm2) Black Automotive Cable - 22A - Sold per 50cm

Yes, you can purchase every individual component needed to build your own custom length leads and 12V adaptors. We stock bulk automotive cable, various terminals, and housings so you can create a wiring solution that fits your specific canopy or caravan layout perfectly.

Building your own leads is a great way to reduce clutter and maintain a tidy electrical system. Having the exact length needed prevents coiled up wire from creating heat and taking up valuable storage space.

Yes, KEY automotive cables are manufactured using high grade, oxygen free copper for maximum conductivity. This material choice prevents the copper from oxidizing over time, which maintains a low resistance path for your current.

Staying with high quality copper is a smart move for long term performance in humid or coastal environments where standard cables might corrode. Using OFC wire helps your charging system operate at its full potential by delivering the most power possible to your batteries and accessories. It is a durable choice for serious off grid setups.

For a standard fridge lead up to three metres, 6mm automotive cable is usually sufficient for most portable units. If you are running a longer lead or have a high draw fridge, stepping up to a heavier gauge wire is a smart move to prevent voltage drop.

Thicker copper manages the load better and helps your fridge run efficiently while you are parked at camp. This prevents your fridge from cutting out early due to a false low voltage reading. Keeping your wiring heavy duty helps maintain your food and drinks at the correct temperature.

Yes, you can convert a standard cigarette lighter lead to an Anderson plug by cutting off the old plug and crimping on a new 50A connector. This is one of the most popular upgrades for travelers because it provides a much more secure and vibration proof connection.

Cigarette sockets often work loose on corrugated tracks, which can lead to a loss of power and spoiled food. Switching to an Anderson connection eliminates this risk and provides a more efficient path for electricity with less heat buildup. It is a simple way to improve the stability of your 12V system before your next trip.
