    About Rekcharge

Rekcharge is the range that finishes an install.

Every 12V build reaches a point where the expensive decisions are made and the job still is not done. The battery is chosen, the charger is ordered, the fridge is in the back. What remains is thirty small parts, none of which anyone researched, all of which stop the job if they are missing on a Sunday afternoon.

That is what this range covers. Anderson plugs and the surface mounts, flush panels and dust covers that go with them. Cigarette and USB sockets, singly and in combination panels with a voltmeter. Toggle switches and multi-switch plates. Circuit breakers in inline waterproof and the fuses and holders that go alongside. Battery cable lugs across a range of cable and stud sizes, joiners for the run that came up short, cable glands for the hole through the roof. Battery boxes with outlets on the face, extension leads, amp meters and crimping tools.

None of it is expensive. Most of it costs less than the fuel to go and get it, which is the argument for having a spare of the ones you use.

Two rules cover most of it. Connectors, cable and lugs are rated above the current that will pass through them, while fuses and breakers are chosen to suit the circuit and cable they protect, which is a different job. Match the connector to what it plugs into, and check both sizes on anything that has two, because a lug has a cable size and a hole size and only one of them gets checked.

    Rekcharge FAQs

Who is Rekcharge and what is the inspiration behind the brand?

Rekcharge is an Australian brand based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, founded by passionate travelers who value real world performance. The inspiration behind the brand comes from firsthand experience with poor quality 12V accessories that often fail under the stress of off-grid travel. By refining and sourcing smarter 12V parts, Rekcharge aim to provide gear that travelers can count on when they are far from the nearest town.

The founders recognized that many standard electrical components are not built to handle the intense heat or vibrations found in the outback. This realization shaped the brand mission to supply accessories that maintain a secure connection in demanding environments. By focusing on the small details that other brands overlook, Rekcharge help travelers build more capable and stable power systems.

Why is Rekcharge gear specifically designed for the Australian climate?

Rekcharge gear is designed for the Australian climate by using materials that resist high heat and the intense UV levels found in our most remote areas. Standard 12V accessories often use lower grade plastics that become brittle and fail when exposed to high cabin temperatures or direct sunlight over time.

Rekcharge selects heat resistant polymers and heavy duty metals for their plugs, lugs, and panels to make sure they maintain structural integrity and electrical conductivity. This focus on durability helps prevent melted connectors or cracked housings that are common failures on long outback hauls. This approach helps build a more dependable electrical foundation for your vehicle fit out.

What makes Rekcharge connectors and plugs different from standard 12V accessories?

Rekcharge connectors and plugs differ because they use higher grade materials designed to handle the constant vibration and heat of Australian touring. Standard accessories often use thinner metals and softer plastics that can distort or lose their grip when the temperature rises inside a canopy or vehicle. By using tighter tolerances and heat resistant housings, these components maintain a secure mechanical and electrical bond that prevents high resistance and power loss.

This focus on material quality reduces the risk of melted plugs or intermittent power cutting out to your fridge and lights. These parts are specifically chosen to hold strong during long hauls on corrugated tracks where loose connections are common. To improve the stability of your system wiring, you can browse our range of plugs and connectors or look for high quality lugs and joiners for your battery system.

How do Rekcharge Anderson adaptors and splitters simplify my 12V solar and battery connections?

Rekcharge Anderson adaptors and splitters simplify your connections by providing a plug and play way to link batteries, solar panels, and accessories. These pre made leads allow you to combine or split power paths using a secure connection without the need for custom wiring. This approach is particularly useful for temporary campsite setups or when moving gear between different vehicles.

Using a 2 to 1 splitter allows you to run two separate devices, such as a fridge and a camp light, from a single battery box outlet. Similarly, Anderson adaptors can bridge connections between portable solar panels and your charging system without the need for permanent modifications. These leads use high quality copper and heat resistant housings to maintain performance on long hauls. You can find more connection solutions in our Anderson plugs collection.

What are the benefits of using a Rekcharge Fuse Block with LED indicators?

Using a Rekcharge fuse block centralizes your 12V connections into one protected location while making fault finding much faster. The main benefit of the integrated LED indicators is that they light up as soon as a fuse blows, immediately identifying which circuit has the problem. This saves you from checking every fuse individually when a light or fridge stops working at camp.

These blocks provide a much neater finish for canopy and vehicle fit outs compared to multiple loose inline fuses. They are built with high quality terminals that stay secure on corrugated tracks and include a protective cover to keep out dust. You can find these units and other safety components in our circuit breakers and fuses range or use them to build a coordinated setup with 12V distribution boxes.

How do Rekcharge Flush Mount Panels help with vehicle fit-outs?

Rekcharge flush mount panels help you achieve a clean and professional finish by integrating power sockets directly into your vehicle interior, canopy, or drawer system. These panels provide a recessed mounting point for your connectors, which saves valuable space and reduces the risk of snagging wires while you are moving gear.

By securing your connections into a fixed panel, you prevent the plugs from being damaged by vibration or shifting loads on rough tracks. This approach keeps your setup organized and protects the rear wiring terminals from dust and physical impact. You can browse our wide range of flush mount panels to see different configurations, or explore 12V switch panels for a complete control solution.

What does the Rekcharge philosophy of "Every Connection Counts" mean for my setup?

The philosophy means that every small part of your 12 volt system is treated as a critical link to prevent unexpected power failure. It is about acknowledging that a single poor quality plug or loose terminal can stop your fridge or lights from working even if you have high quality batteries and solar panels.

By focusing on high grade materials and secure fitment, Rekcharge helps build a system that handles the vibration and heat found across the outback. This approach reduces the chance of high resistance or melted components which are common issues when using standard accessories. Using better connections builds confidence that your gear will perform on corrugated tracks and in humid coastal air.
