About Victron
Victron's reputation rests on the part most makers treat as an afterthought, which is what happens after the product is installed.
Nearly everything in the range talks over Bluetooth to one app. The solar controller reports what the panels made today. The battery monitor reports what is in the bank. The DC to DC charger reports what it put in on the drive. All of it in one place, on a phone, without opening a cupboard, and all of it logged so a problem can be traced to a day rather than guessed at.
That matters most on the setups that are hardest to diagnose. A bank that never quite fills has a cause, and the cause is visible in the history rather than in a voltmeter reading taken once.
The range covers the charging side of a system. MPPT solar controllers across the common panel and battery voltages. DC to DC chargers, isolated and not. AC chargers. Inverters. Battery monitors with a shunt, including the version with no display of its own that puts everything on the phone.
The trade is price and a certain amount of setting up. A Victron controller with the wrong battery profile is a controller doing the wrong thing precisely, and the flexibility that makes the range good is the same flexibility that has to be configured.
Set the profile before the first charge, not after the first flat battery.
