About Awning Mounting Brackets
The bracket sets the height of the awning, and height decides more than it looks like it should.
Mount an awning too low and the vehicle doors do not open fully underneath it, or the arm fouls the canopy lid. Mount it too high and the release clips are out of reach without a step, which in practice means the awning stays rolled up because it is a hassle. Get the height right and everything under it works without thinking about it.
Standard L brackets suit most roof racks and put the awning where the manufacturer intended. The height adjustable T-bracket is for racks that sit unusually high or low, or for a setup where something else on the roof is in the way. The rooftop tent brackets do a different job again, giving the awning a mounting point on the tent base when the rack has no room left.
Two things worth checking before you order. What the rack rail profile is, because bracket fixings are not universal. And the combined weight the rack is rated to carry while moving, once the awning, the brackets and anything else up there are added together.
Everything here is built for a specific awning range. Match the bracket to the awning before ordering.
